When shipping cargo to Pakistan, one of the first decisions is how it gets delivered at the other end: door-to-door, or port-to-port. They work very differently, so it's worth understanding both before you book.
Door-to-Door
With door-to-door, we handle the whole journey: we collect your cargo from you in the UK, and it's delivered right to the destination address in Pakistan — no need for you or anyone else to travel anywhere to collect it. This is the more convenient option for most personal effects, household goods, and gifts being sent to family.
Port-to-Port
Port-to-port is a different model. Cargo Lord's port-to-port sea service brings your cargo to Karachi Port or Port Qasim in Pakistan, but from there, clearing the cargo and collecting it is down to you (or someone acting on your behalf). Importantly: to use this service, you need to have travelled to Pakistan yourself and be able to attend the port with the required documents to clear and collect the shipment.
Which One Do You Need?
If you want the simplest experience and don't want to deal with port collection yourself, door-to-door is almost always the better fit. Port-to-port can work out more cost-effective, but only makes sense if you're already planning to be in Pakistan and are comfortable handling customs clearance and collection in person.
